A truly unique Croatian cruise itinerary on-board the stylish MS Adriatic Queen. Cruise one way from Dubrovnik to Porec (Istria) to explore the magnificent Croatian coastline from top to bottom. Visit the well-known ports of Rovinj, Pula, Split, Hvar, Korcula and Dubrovnik but also discover the lesser visited Mali Losinj, Brijuni National Park and the car-free island of Olib.
DAY 1 DUBROVNIK
Your cruise commences with an arrival transfer to Dubrovnik port, where embarkation is from 2.00pm. After settling in to your cabin, meet your fellow passengers and cruise manager for an on-board welcome dinner. (D)
DAY 2 DUBROVNIK
This morning, enjoy a guided walking tour of Dubrovnik, the “Pearl of Adriatic” and a UNESCO World Heritage site. On your guided walk of the stunning Old Town you will visit the Rector’s Palace and Franciscan Monastery’s Pharmacy. The remainder of your day is at leisure to further explore this stunning port before this evenings farewell dinner at a local restaurant. (B, L)
DAY 3 MLJET - KORCULA
Wake-up in the beautiful Mljet Island. Explore Mljet National Park with its five types of forest, many species of birds, and two deep lakes, Big and Small Lake before departing to the magical island of Korcula with its fairy-tale like walled town bearing the same name. On arrival you will join a tour to discover the walled city with your local guide. The walking tour takes you through its narrow, cobbled streets and includes a visit to the Gothic-Baroque Cathedral of St. Mark. Remainder of your day is at leisure until dinner this evening in a local restaurant. (B, L, D)
DAY 4 HVAR - SPLIT
Welcome to Hvar. Croatia’s sunniest island is a favourite holiday destination for international celebrities and yachters; thus, beyond all the glitz and glamour, Hvar town is a charming seaside resort with 8 centuries of architecture waiting to be explored. On a walking tour, breathe in the pine-scented breeze, as you absorb vistas of the Old Town with it's picturesque streets and the first public theatre in Europe. Return to your ship and enjoy lunch on-board as you cruise to the central Dalmatian city of Split for a walking tour of the historical centre. See the historic inner city built around the Roman Emperor Diocletian’s Palace, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site, where remnants of Split’s Roman heritage can be seen including its Renaissance and Gothic structures, Jupiter’s Temple and the Cathedral. Note: Due to the limited capacity of the Hvar Town harbor (during peak season in July and August) port of call can be substituted for Stari Grad/Jelsa. In that case transfer by bus will be organized to and from Hvar Town.
DAY 5 SIBENIK - KRKA NATIONAL PARK - ZADAR
Arrive this morning in Sibenik for a visit to the Krka National Park, with its magnificent waterfalls and scenic trails. Continue to Vodice and re-join your ship for lunch as you cruise to the mainland town of Zadar. On arrival you will join a sightseeing tour of the city which has an exceptional history and rich cultural heritage. Zadar's historical center is a compact pedestrian zone, perfect to explore on foot as you discover the old walls built in 16th century by Venetians as a defence from Turks. You will also see the 16th century Port Gate where the Venetian lion still guards the entrance, the Square of the Five Wells, Church of St. Donat, the Roman Forum and the largest cathedral in Dalmatia, St. Anastasia. DAY 6 OLIB - SUSAK - MALI LOSINJ
Arrive early this morning on the sandy island of Olib, overgrown by black pine. Olib has a lovely little fort, the remains of the monastery and the Church of the Assumption of Mary, where you can see a document written in the Glagolitic script – the alphabet in which Croatian was first written. Your next stop is Susak followed by lunch on-board before an afternoon arrival to the port of Mali Losinj, located in the island with the same name. Thanks to its mild climate, pinewoods and air, the island of Mali Losinj is an ideal place to rejuvenate your body and spirit. Return to your ship for this evenings Captain's dinner with live entertainment. (B, L, D)
DAY 7 PULA - BRIJUNI NATIONAL PARK - ROVINJ - POREC
Your first stop today is Pula, Istria. On arrival you will join a guided tour of Pula, arguably one of the most beautiful of Istrian cities. Your guide will share some exciting stories of antiquity, as you walk the footsteps of the ancient Romans and visit the Amphitheatre. Continue to Brijuni National Park, once the personal State Summer Residence of President Marshal Josip Broz Tito. Explore the national park, a unique harmony of flora, fauna and heritage followed by lunch on-board whilst you cruise to the romantic Istrian seaside town of Rovinj. Enjoy a walking tour of the charming Old Town with its narrow cobbled streets, winding to the foot of the Church of St. Euphamia. This evening enjoy a farewell dinner with your fellow travellers at a local restaurant. (B, L, D)
